Good afternoon, TCN,

I hope everyone is enjoying these last few weeks of summer! It always seems to go by so fast. Although some of you don't want to hear it, I'm excited to see the leaves change! For those of you who've recently joined: Welcome to the Network! The TCN mission is to advance the emerging circular economy within Toronto’s design and construction industries. Our events, workshops, and resources foster collaboration between individuals and organizations committed to circularity in construction and design.

Alright... Here's what's happening in the Network.

With Toronto Climate Week's inaugural event from Oct 1-3, we wanted our next TCN Thursday_Classic Mixer [25 September] to be about circularity projects and their impact on the climate. We would like you to come and share a circularity/reuse project and think about the project's role in the broader climate conversation: casual setting, drop-in when you can and meet others interested in the circularity movement. For Climate Week, check out their website as there are always new events being added (link below) and I will send an email with some of our TCN picks for the weekend closer to the event. Also, be sure to save the date for our October event, I've heard it's gonna be a good one. 

Lastly, we have set out to build a deconstruction guide and are looking for volunteers. People with strong research skills, interested in policy and guidelines, and social media. Read below to find out more!

The Classic TCN Meetup—Drop in whenever you can to hang out and chat with others weaving circularity into their everyday work. For this session, we invite you to share a circularity project you’re working on (or one you’ve encountered) and reflect on its role in the bigger climate and circularity conversations.

The Classic Mixer is all about sparking connections — bringing people together who might discover shared interests and decide to join forces on an idea or project.

WAYS TO BE INVOLVED

The TCN is looking for Volunteers! We are building a Deconstruction Guide and are looking for people interested in helping us put this in motion. We are looking for folks with: strong research skills; interest in deconstruction policies, guides, and case studies from around the world that focus on circularity; and enjoyment for writing and formatting. If you are interested or would like to learn more, send us an email.
