Hello Circularity Network!
That's a wrap on 2025 at the TCN! And what an amazing year it's been! I cannot wait to see this community grow. As the year winds down, I have a few things to share from both the leadership team and myself.
1) Thank You Volunteers!
2) Looking Forward & Back
3) Take Action 2026!
4) January Event
1) Thank You Volunteers! Our network continues to grow and take action because of people like you! Thank you to all who have given their time. Additionally, we'd like to say thank you to everyone who has taken part in TCN; whether through events, workshops, socials, or simply staying tuned into what's happening in the community, we see all contributions, no matter the size, as valuable to the movement. And Lastly, thanks to the many organizations who have supported us along the way, you've allowed the TCN to project its voice to the world.
I have one last thank you—for those who don't know who writes these emails, my name is Matthew McArthur and I am the Lead Coordinator for the TCN. I personally would like to give a huge thank you to my team. Many of you know them or have crossed paths at our events and without them the TCN would not be what it is today. So thank you, Alex, Breanne, Haley, Rashmi, Raphael, Ramsey, & Robert for all of the time and dedication you have put into building this community.
2) Looking Forward & Back -- This past year the TCN evolved it's mission, growing from a two-person operation into a team, ushering in more perspectives, ideas, and energy! The TCN brings people passionate people together into one community, and almost 100 people have joined this past year alone! We know action requires collaboration. We've held round table discussions on circularity thinking; organized workshops, like Circular Collab i & ii, giving members the chance to really take circular action; and, continued to host casual mixers, where we can simply come together as a network and enjoy good conversation. All of this has been extremely important in building our movement.
As we look to the future, I just wanted to let you all in on a little secret... all of this is so that we can take action as a network. Our mission to bring people together has been evolving to catalyze our members to get involved—that's You! We know how talented, skillful, and knowledgeable you all are and we hope that 2026 is your year to be bring your expertise into the circularity movement.
3) Take Action 2026 -- The New Year is about taking action. Our events will give you the opportunity to be involved. Taking actionable ideas and bringing them to life. Our volunteer opportunities will allow you to boost the voice of the circularity movement in Toronto and beyond, to really be part of something that has been proven to have high impact for our planet, industries, and our communities. We feel the energy and excitement coming from all you and the TCN is building on this momentum and energy to make 2026 the year of Circular Action.
We are always looking for volunteers: researchers, content creators, events helpers, social media gurus, and dedicated folks who want to push circularity forward. Reach out to let us know how you want to be involved.
4) January Event -- TCN Take Action_Deconstruction

We kicked off our deconstruction guide in 2025… now it’s time for Phase 2.
Our January meetup will be a hands-on workshop where we build out the next sections of the guide together—a resource for making deconstruction the norm (not the exception) in Toronto. Whether you’re an architect, contractor, deconstructor, policy nerd, or just super into this topic, we want your brain in the room.
Come help shape what circular construction actually looks like.
I wish you all wonderful holiday season and look forward to working with all of you in the new year!
Best,
Matthew
