Renovation waste is a quiet crisis—and it’s happening in our homes. Deconstruction is often cost-competitive, but it gets killed before the first nail is pulled: unclear language, shaky assumptions, and “we already recycle” complacency.
Hosted by TMU DAS, this 90-minute action workshop brings homeowners, designers, and architects into the same room to name the real barriers, swap fixes, and build a two-page deconstruction guide people will actually use. Leave with sharper words for drawings and emails (“deconstruct,” not “demolish”), clearer cost talking points, and a shared playbook to make reuse normal in Toronto’s interior renos.
