The mouth of the Don River has been reborn. Have you been waiting for an excuse to visit the renaturalized area in Ookwemin Minising including Biidaasige Park? Are you curious about placemaking and circularity initiatives in the Port Lands?
Join us at Biidaasige Park for a conversation about the flood protection work and what happened to some of the materials left behind. We'll go deep on the Ookwemin Minising Placemaking Pop-Up arriving nearby in June, a collaboration between C40 Cities, Waterfront Toronto and the City of Toronto. Designed by Ha/f Climate, GXN (a branch of 3XN in Copenhagen), and AKT II Engineers, the structure is built primarily from salvaged materials and designed from the start to be taken apart, and used again, in unique ways.
